For sale is an exquisite Arts and Crafts oval-shaped Tudric pewter dish, crafted by the renowned Liberty & Co of London. This piece features pierced heart-shaped handles and edges adorned with clover leaf motifs, showcasing the attention to detail characteristic of the Arts and Crafts movement. The dish remains unpolished, preserving its authentic patina and historical charm. Stamped "English Pewter 0287" on the reverse, this dish was designed by Rex Silver in 1904 and produced exclusively for Liberty & Co. The design remained in production until around 1920, with most pieces dating back to before the First World War. Rex Silver was a key designer for Liberty’s, working within the influential Silver Studio, a family firm known for its exceptional designs in fabrics and various decorative arts. The Silver Studio also employed the legendary Archibald Knox, who contributed significantly to Liberty's iconic style. Authentic original antique used condition. Unpolished patination. Makers marks stamped on base. No sign of repair or restoration. Usual patination, scuffs to the pewter, overall wear and signs of use typical of an antique or vintage item of this age.
